Becoming a SAKOMA member

SAKOMA began with 30 organisations in 2005 and continues to grow as Reading’s BME community increases. The Executive Committee is committed to recruit new members and promote membership within existing and emerging BME communities.

Any BME voluntary or community group is welcome to apply provided they can

  • Demonstrate group status by means of a formal constitution, articles of Association or a clear set of agreed rules  
  • Show their activity, openness and democracy e.g. by copies of meeting minutes, attendance records at activities or such methods deemed appropriate by SAKOMA
